Dear Friends,

It has been an exciting 3 months at ISPAE!

I am writing this note on behalf of ISPAE Executive Council with a great sense of pride while watching the Executive Council members putting enormous effort into achieving greater heights for our society.

We are in the process of starting a quarterly virtual program named “Pediatric Endocrinology for Practicing Pediatricians (PEPP).” Thus, we will have one program every month including Indian Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology - Academic and Clinical Education Series (ISPAE-ACES) focusing on pediatric endocrinology trainees and consultants, PEP focusing on pediatric postgraduates, and PEPP (on the dIAP platform) concentrating on practicing pediatricians.

Meanwhile, the ISPAE Diabetes Education and Learning (IDEAL) and Basic Education Series for type 1 diabetes mellitus (BEST) online courses for improving the care of children with type 1 diabetes are forging ahead with meaningful achievements and results. Moreover, a successful virtual program to improve knowledge of type 1 diabetes among teachers was conducted successfully.

The type 1 diabetes registry work is on and will be up and running in the near future.

The Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes is growing increasingly with each issue of the journal.

We are committed to instituting modules on some topics in pediatric endocrinology to extend the knowledge in pediatric endocrinology across our vast country.

There are exciting times ahead with the biennial meeting of ISPAE at Bengaluru from 17-19 November, 2023. An exciting session for young investigators with an award has been instituted for the first time to promote research among our younger friends to take ISPAE to greater heights in the future. A quiz competition with exciting prizes is on the anvil too.

Looking forward to meeting you all in person in Bengaluru.

Dr. Ahila Ayyavoo,

President, ISPAE

On behalf of Team ISPAE 2023-24.
